Flight Arrivals at Kahului Airport

Kahului Airport on the island of Maui, is the second busiest airport in the state of Hawaii, United States. The Aloha state is well-known for its warm welcoming and this is true here too.

Kahului Airport is a regional airport with flights to and from the islands of Hawaii (inter-island flights), and the North American mainland, Canada included (overseas flights). It has one single terminal building, divided into the Commuter and the Main/Overseas Terminals, and one baggage claim area servicing all flights located on the ground floor.

Shops and Restaurants

A Starbucks is located in the baggage claim area offering arriving passengers coffees and other drinks as well as a variety of pastries, salads and sandwiches after their flight.

There is an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) located in the baggage claim area.

Restrooms

Restrooms can be found in several places throughout the airport, including the baggage claim area. All restrooms are adapted for disabled passengers.

Smoking at Kahului Airport

Smoking is strictly forbidden in all areas other than the parking lots. To remind passengers of this prohibition there are signs posted around the airport. Violators may face fines.

There is no WiFi available at the airport. Internet access is only available for departing passengers.

Automated External Defibrillators are installed in several places throughout the airport’s public areas. They automatically call for help when the equipment is removed from the security boxes they are mounted in.

Transfers at Kahului Airport

• Rental cars: The rental car desks at Kahului Airport are all located in a facility separate from the terminal building. Once you have collected your luggage exit the terminal, cross the street and take the tram there. It is only a few minutes away. Some of the rental car companies located on-site are Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.
• Buses: Two local buses stop at the airport in zone #3 right outside the terminal.
• Shuttle: A service desk for Shuttle buses is located near Starbucks in the baggage claim area. No reservations are needed.
• Train: There are no trains on Maui.
• Taxis: A service desk for taxis is located to the left in the baggage claim area, close to Starbucks. No pre-booking is necessary.

There are a great number of taxi and transport companies you can pre-arrange your transportation with. Choose between a limousine, a bus for your entire group of friends, or just a ride on your own in a normal sedan.

Pick-ups

If someone is picking you up, or if you are picking someone up, at the airport they, or you, may wait in the Cellular Telephone Waiting Lot outside the arrivals hall. Free parking is allowed as long as the car is not unattended and for up to one hour. The parking lot is open every day 05.00-22.00, and is located at Hemaloa Street off Keolani Place.
